Registration for the Stanley Cup NHL jerseys Playoffs 2022 Bracket Challenge™ is ongoing

NEW YORK / TORONTO (April 21, 2022) – Early registration for the Stanley Cup NHL jerseys Playoffs 2022 Bracket Challenge™ is now open at nhljerseys.net. Once the 2022 Stanley Cup® NHL jerseys Playoffs first round fixtures are confirmed, hockey fans around the world will be able to create and submit their individual playoff series predictions online or through the NHL® app. For the ninth year of the Bracket Challenge, the NHL is introducing two exciting new elements to the program.

For the first time, TNT stations are participating in the Bracket Challenge, completing their predictions on-air and on nhljerseys.net. Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky will compete against hockey fans and other hockey experts. Fans can enter the “Beat Gretzky TNT League” to see how their predictions compare to the Hockey Hall of Famer’s predictions.

Also joining the party are NHL Network analysts, reporters and commentators, including Jamie Hersch, E.J. Hradek, Mike Johnson, Jackie Redmond, Mike Rupp and Kevin Weekes who give their picks for each game.

Also new for this year is that the prediction lines will remain open until the first games of each series in the first round, giving fans the opportunity to change their predictions for each series based on the results of Game 1. Lines will close on May 4 at 6:59 p.m ET (5/5 0:59 AM EDT) before the puck drops for Game 2 of Round 1.

A leaderboard allows fans to see how their brackets compare to other participants in their leagues, as well as other participants around the world. Fans can share their brackets on social media using the official hashtag #NHLBracket.

The NHL is averaging 6.3 goals per game in 2021-22, the highest in 26 years (6.3 in the 1995-96 season). 42 percent of all games were won by a team that came from behind to win. Four players have already scored 50 goals and all belong to teams that secured a playoff spot: Auston Matthews (TOR), Leon Draisaitl (EDM), Chris Kreider (NYR) and Alex Ovechkin (WSH). Eight skaters have achieved or are well on their way to a 100 point season, including five who have already achieved that mark: Connor McDavid (EDM), Jonathan Huberdeau (FLA), Johnny Gaudreau (CGY), Draisaitl (EDM) and Matthews (TOR).

Four teams currently holding a postseason spot did not participate in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including three new teams in the Western Conference (West: CGY, LAK, DAL; East: NYR). The race has been particularly close in the Western Conference, where the “playoff line” has been a five-point or less difference all season long — since February 11, that difference has been three points or less every day.

The grand prize for the Stanley Cup® NHL Jerseys Playoffs Bracket Challenge is attendance at an NHL event in the 2022-23 season, awarded to the competitor who tops the rankings. All prizes are subject to confirmation of eligibility and satisfaction of winner notification requirements. In the event of a tie, the tie rules apply. No purchase is required to participate in the Bracket Challenge. Visit nhljerseys.net for official rules.
