Penguins’ Malkin suspended for four games

NEW YORK (April 11 2022) NEW YORK (April 11, 2022) Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin was suspended for four games with no payment for a cross-check upon Nashville Predators defenseman Mark Borowiecki during NHL game #1157 on April 10, 2022 in Pittsburgh.

The incident occurred just after 20:00 minutes of the second quarter. Malkin was penalized twice because of a high stick.

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and based on his annual average salary, Malkin will lose $190,000. The funds go to the Players Emergency Assistance Fund.
