Hischier delighted with away victory

The New Jersey Devils have had three wins from five away games since April 9, showing a progression towards the end of the season. Only against the Colorado Avalanche did they remain pointless in five games.

After the 3-2 win against the Vegas Golden Knights, Nico Hischier was happy about the “great road trip” for the Devils. “We played well and finished strong. It gives us a good feeling and it makes the flight a little less long.”

Hischier himself was able to collect six points (1 goal, 5 assists) in the five previous matches. In the win against Vegas and the point win against the Seattle Kraken, however, the Swiss remained without a point.

In the end, however, it’s all about success as a team and an away trip will bring them even closer together. “When you spend a lot of time together and you stay in the same hotel and you see them every day, then you bond with everyone. We did a lot together on that road trip and I think you could see it on the ice. We fought for each other and they’re just fun to play with and the trip was fun too.”
