Leon Draisaitl wants to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Edmonton Oilers as soon as feasible. “We would like to finish the remainder of the season well-rested, and make the playoffs as soon as we can, and be able to play our best there. Then, of course, we want to stay there as long as we can,” he said in an interview with Sky Sport .
Draisaitl along with his teammates would like to be in the top at the finish. However, that’s not easy. Because any team that gets into the playoffs could be in the position to be victorious in the Stanley Cup, he said.
The Oilers forward is satisfied that he has recently was able to replace Marco Sturm as the all-time best German goal scorer within the NHL. “I’m content there’s no doubt about it. However, Sturmi has contributed so much to German hockey. I have lots of respect for him” he declared in honor of his mentor in the books of history.
The current season is in full swing, and this 26 year old from Cologne is competing in the Maurice Richard Trophy, which is given to the highest scorers of each regular NHL season. “I always strive to improve myself each year, even with small things, and always be efficient. I’m looking to be on top of my game and improve it as often as I can,” said Draisaitl, explaining his method for success.
